Swimwear for the Summer 2014

                 TopMan £26

As said in previous posts, Summer 2014 is all about bold colours and making an statement. I don’t know about all of you, but in my case, getting into a pair of speedos could cause a panic attack and deep trauma in me, that is why I always opt for swim shorts but, by all means, wear them if you feel comfortable, ES Collection has a wide range of nice looking trunks, and a pair of camo speedos would suit pretty much everyone.

For the rest of us mortals, Swim shorts seem to be the way to go, these TopMan swim shorts are affordable and fashionable, wear them with a nice white t-shirt or vest and colourful flip flops and you are good to go.

There a few tips when going to the beach, when wearing swim shorts, get them short, not all the way to your knees, that makes you look unpolished and worst of all, Short!

Try and keep your top simple as you want everyone’s eyes to go to your trunks, or better yet, don’t wear a top. here’s an example of how to wear a nice and simple shirt, you can wear it after the sun is going down and you’re heading to the local restaurants to have a bite to eat

Colours of the season for Men (Summer 2014)

Being a man doesn’t need to mean being monotone boarding on boring, that is so victorian… it is 2014 after all, and masculinity is no longer defined as wearing black, white and grey. When out of the office and into the town it is time to paint the town red, quite literally I mean. Designers proposed a variety of extravagant colours for this year’s summer. Paul Smith launched a SS14 collection that include pieces like:

£445

These shades of pink, blues and reds that a lot of you would say -Absolutely not, gives you not only the statement of being absolutely comfortable with your sexuality, whatever it is, but the edge of being fashionable and modern. by all means, nobody is asking or suggesting you to dress like a clown, but inspired by this new trend you could have some accents in your daily outfit to bring some different colours in this new season.

Zara offers a variety of chinos for this summer, and FYI they are on a sale at the moment, these trousers that I’m about to show you can give you a sense of what you can wear on saturday afternoon . but please, do throw away the belt all jeans come with!

Suits in the Summer

Esquire Magazine refers to Summer as the Forgotten Season, and maybe it is because it’s only 3 months, or because in London we only seem to have 1 week of it. Recently it is been quite hot in the British capital and I can’t help but notice all the sweaty businessmen riding the tube, a black suit or a tuxedo is not very suited for the summer, thick fabrics or polyester do not really scream summer, but for that time of the year that heat is painfully necessary, every person condemned to wear a suit when everyone is wearing shorts and flip flops has to have a go-to suit, that is not only perfectly appropriate for the office (or drinks after 5pm) but that is not going to give you the sensation of being caught in a sauna. The Suits that will suit perfect for this season will range from light brown, khaki or even grey, here are some example of how you can pull it off:

There is no reason to dress like a tacky tourist in the caribbean, summer does not mean hawaiian shirts or flip flops. Summer means BBQs at your friend with a nice balcony that you only see once a year, picnics in the park and drinks outside the pub. Now I can only see you all thinking… What kind of shoes do I wear with my Khaki Suit?, and wait no more. Natural-Leather will give you that polished finish that will make you look like a true fashionista that does not let seasons control him!

Driving Shoes (Summer Trends 2014)

The shoes of the season have arrived, but as always they do not come cheaply, Prada Driving Shoes are all that you want for this summer. Chinos, shorts, jeans, they will all look great with these on your feet but at £395 not everyone can afford them, including yours truly. But as you will notice, I won’t ever talk about something without giving all you guys the hook up on how to dress like a true gentlemen at prices for everyone.

Asos.com is an online retailer that offers sales in high street brand and they even have their own brand, which is not the best ever but it’ll do the trick. these are some of the driving shoes they offer.

How to wear shorts?

Different Types of Shorts

Wearing shorts can be a difficult topic, some find it too sporty and unsophisticated while others clearly abuse of them, let’s set something straight, if it’s less than 20C outside, you should not be wearing shorts, no excuse is permitted!. now, given that the right temperature has taken place, (And I live in London so I don’t experience it that often), wearing the appropriate shorts is crucial, take into account the length of your legs, long legs can wear pretty much any type of shorts but if you have short legs, please oh please, do not wear anything below the knee!; now gentlemen, it is the 21st century and neither ladies nor men like legs with a bushy carpet on them, hairs are nice and manly but there has to be a difference between men and gorilla, if you have hairy legs, trimming them won’t make you less of man, but it will make you more desirable. Believe me!
